Happy Thanksgiving, Gearing up for Advent & Ski Trip 2007 Info!!!
We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends! I'm a sucker for all the delicious food - turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie.... *drool
The last AMDG night focused on the life of Mary, the Mother of our Church. We learned how at such a young age she embraced was it truely means to serve God. This next sunday, which is the first sunday of Advent, we look towards preparing ourselves for the coming of Christ and learning what the true spirit of Christmas is all about. Is it about looking the cutest for the Christmas party? or eating all the yummy Christmas food? or getting that one toy you've been 'dying' for? How easy it is to get caught up in all the Christmas fluff and loose sight of what we're really supposed to be celebrating.
The deadline for the Ski Trip forms is coming up. For those that need the form here it is for download (Click here). Please bring it in to Cassi as soon as possible! The trip is over MLK weekend and is always a blast. We're going up to West Virginia where there will be lots of snow, skiing and fun!!!!
See everyone on Sunday!
God Bless!!!

Update on AMDG nights & Fall Retreat!!!
It's been over a month since our last post so a lot's been going on. I'll be brief so not to bore you.
Following the kickoff of our AMDG nights or BenedicTeen nights or Life nights or whatever you would like to call them, we focused on the history of the church and then on the Mass. We learned about schisms and that there are over 32,000 different Protestant denominations. We also learned about the Eucharist and how important it is to our faith.
The latest theme we are on is world religions. First we got an indepth look at Scientology and Kabbalah. We focused on where these religions originated and looked at some of the key elements of their faith. Did you know that in order to practice Kabbalah you must be over 40 years old, male and know the Torah backwards and forwards? The word scientology means literally knowing how to know. This upcoming Sunday is on Judaism and Islam, their histories and common misconceptions of their teachings. You've gotta come to see it!
I have to give a couple teasers about this year's Fall Retreat. The theme is "LOST; Living On Scripture and Tradition"! We're going to a new retreat center this year in Enota, GA. Here are a couple of pictures.
